Public Spa: Atmosphere by Krallerhof

This is my second public wellness visit during my stay in Austria, this day I took a full day entrance plus breakfast of the spa called Atmosphere nestled at the bottom of the gently rolling foot hills of the Leoganger Steinberge mountains.

Upon arriving by car at the spacious parking lot in front of the five star hotel Krallerhof, this is the hotel that Atmosphere belongs to I was immediately cheered by the way the hotel and its surroundings looked, it was so beautiful and highly cared for

It was also immediately clear to me that the spa area was nicely hidden behind the beautiful large and wide hotel, which only adds to the privacy.

Upon entering the front of the hotel you enter a large beautiful entrance area with the reception desk on the right side, here you are helped fairly quickly and the receptionists themselves notice well when you are waiting.

I had reserved breakfast that day and upon arrival a man escorted me all the way to the breakfast room.

In the breakfast room itself there is always very friendly staff present, also the atmosphere among the staff is very pleasant which is nice to observe.

After breakfast I went back to the reception desk and a girl accompanied me with a tour through the entire wellness area, really super that they want to do this so personal and focused, it really contributes to a pleasant welcome.

Also the Spa staff in the Atmosphere section are all very friendly and there is nothing to complain about.

The hygiene in the Hotel where breakfast takes place is really spotless, everything is done to perfection.

It is also worth mentioning that the spa area consists of an older part which used to belong to the hotel and the new Atmosphere part which opened in 2023.

At the Atmosphere section, everything is extremely clean there are even tappers in the shower rooms to keep them clean.

The only thing that I could point out and that has stayed with me is that in the old section there were bugs, a kind of beetles in the steam room, probably because this old area includes an open door or space somewhere.

Once I felt these bugs crawling all over me in a dark steam room it was less relaxing and I did not go there again in the steam room.

The spa Atmosphere was designed by award winning Iranian German architect Hadi Teherani.

If you ask me, the architect loves going to the spa, at least he completely speaks the language a spa lover meets.

The building is truly unique in its design, choice of materials and possibilities.
One day is not enough to take in the whole thing, it is that special and there is nothing negative to say about it.

The older spa area could use repairs here and there to mosaic tiles that were missing.
Furthermore, it was an accessible older style but that did not take away from the fact that it had all the necessary amenities for a successful spa experience.

The hotel itself and the breakfast room were very nice in terms of interior design and style, typical of Austria.

The breakfast in the morning was very nice and the service was very nicely done, the breakfast had more than anything you could want, just the cheese section alone had so many variations which I had never seen before as a cheese lover.

Then in the spa area I noticed that there is an abundance of towels which you can change unlimited with your already wet used towels, this is a small detail but it experiences so incredibly pleasant.

Furthermore, in the spa area there is unlimited free water with fresh pieces of apple and cucumber and for those who prefer something sweet you can also add a little Hollunder syrup in it really delicious, I really loved this.

In addition, there is also cold cream orange tea available and there are always fresh apples available completely free and at no additional cost to take.

In the restaurant called “Café Am See” you can eat and drink incredibly good food for a fee and the service there is really up and running.

I had an Atmosphere salad (14€), a pita with hummus (9€) and some nice cocktails including the Apple Tiny (9€), Elderberry (9€) and the cocktail of the day (9€).

Afterwards I attended an infusion/aufguss given by Laslo, this was a really nice experience.

He himself had three nice fragrances with him and what I especially remembered was the very nice choice of music he had with him, you seemed to be in a prehistoric Roman bathhouse when you closed your eyes.

This same day I also took a massage here of which you can find my experience in my employed massage therapists reviews with a massage therapist named “Slavomir”.

The experience in real life surpasses anything found online from pictures about this place, you have to experience it yourself to realize how beautiful this spa is.

The temperature everywhere is just as it should be there was nothing to worry about.

The shampoo and hand soaps present were always restocked and nicely scented.

More products were not present and did not need to be there, perhaps a scrub in the shower would have been nice if that was also there but the what was there was actually sufficient and suited the experience.

The music complied everywhere and it was a pleasant addition.

I especially remembered the music choice of the person doing the infusion, did was really perfect in harmony.

The price I paid for one day entrance was 120€.

For everything you get availability here and the overall experience and unique view of this place I think this is a nice and correct price.

General opinion

This spa must be experienced in real life, it hits you right in the heart as a spa lover when you start to see how every detail of this wonderful place has been thought about.

The people who work there love being there and you can feel it, they guide you with care to make your stay as comfortable as possible and they also interact among themselves in a very nice way.

It is a place that will live in my mind as a beautiful memory and it will be one never to forget.
