Location 10/10
Oberlängenfeld 140 • 6444 Oberlängenfeld • Austria
There is not much bad to say about this location. The spa is located in a valley amidst a number of high mountain peaks in the Austrian Alps including the Gamskogel (2813m), Felderkogel (2830m), Plattigkogel (3092m) and the Hoherkogel (2883m).
Consequently, the views from the basin pools to these mountain peaks are extremely beautiful and I spent a long time looking at them.
If you look closely in the direction of the Gamskogel you can even see a suspension bridge in the middle of the mountains.
In terms of privacy, the swimming area is located behind the hotel and entrance so it is not immediately in sight of passers-by and thus hidden away from the village side.
At the very back of the area with the dome pools, which is only accessible with swimwear, there is a small footpath where you occasionally see people passing by but this does not bother at all.
The area without swimwear is completely enclosed and separate from the swimwear area which is only accessible with the proper bracelet through a swing gate.
This area has privacy everywhere.
Furthermore, the complex was very well and easily accessible and in the village was also the necessary signage provided.
Welcoming 7/10
Once I came out of the underground garage it was very clear how to get to the check in of the spa area.
The young man who continued to help me there was friendly and correct.
At this same desk I was also given a bathrobe, one towel and a bracelet that allows you access to the areas you booked for. You can also have your purchases in the restaurants scanned on this so you can always enjoy yourself without any worries.
The only thing I did notice is that there was no guided tour or explanation.
You have to discover everything yourself. After walking around the entire complex or asking around, everything becomes pretty clear.
In the spa area without swimwear there is always a clear overview of the sauna sessions.
Hygiene 10/10
My arrival was an hour after opening and I went into the locker rooms to take a look at the restrooms and shower areas and they all looked very clean and cared for.
Also for the rest of my stay until evening I did not notice any dirty areas anywhere.
In the saunas everyone nicely applied the concept of placing a towel under the buttocks and feet.
It was a very pleasant and clean experience.
Interior 10/10
The entire building is full of architectural delights which all add to the overall feel. The basins are very unique in themselves and I myself have never seen or experienced anything like this before.
What I found very impressive and nice is that the pools outside are finished with metal all over the swimming area and even the bottom is in metal with non-slip studs.
Everything is very new and cared for and there are no flaws or things broken anywhere.
Services/Techniques 9/10
Of the three basin pools, I spent the most time and longest time in the back one “The Sole Basin”. This one had a slightly salty 5% content and underwater music where I let myself float around on my back for a long time.
It had the same relaxing effect as floating.
I had breakfast fairly shortly in the morning after some swimming on the sunny terrace close to the basins. The kitchen where you can take anything by self-service looked very clean and well stocked with a range of food options.
I also had dinner in the indoor section near this same kitchen, again it looked nicely taken care of.
Soon I went to spend the rest of my day in the more beautiful part for me without swimwear. This is where I stayed. This side of the spa has a lot of options such as rest rooms, a sunbathing area, several saunas, a beautiful infrared room, steam baths, cold bath, a private restaurant, a salt bath, a waterfall or rain sky in a high large cave as well as several make-up sessions.
In both parts of the complex (with and without swimwear) there are whirlpools with natural bubbles coming from a depth of 1800 meters. The idea is nice although in my opinion they bubble a little too softly.
The only minor flaw about this whole experience is that the water coming out of the fountain in the front basin smelled like well water or rotten eggs.
Something you can, of course, quickly rinse back off.
Online vs. real represance 8/10
What I and my fellow guests immediately noticed is that the basins experience smaller in real life than on the website. It immediately came up spontaneously.
But this is only when you start comparing between the online experience and reality.
In real life you adapt yourself just as quickly and everything quickly feels like a picture that is right.
Temperature 10/10
There were many different rooms with many different temperatures and this way there was always something for everyone.
Each room individually had the matching temperature and always experienced as it should.
Products 10/10
All the shower areas were provided with well-scented liquid soaps.
At the information desk of the saunas I did go and ask for scrub as it was not provided there as standard. This is something I always do before undergoing a massage to remove the dead skin flakes. This contributes to a more pleasant experience for the massage therapist.
As for the cuisine, it is all fresh produce.
At the “Thermal spa restaurant” I had for breakfast a scrumble egg with bacon, tomatoes, potatoes, a slice of salmon and some herb cheese topped with a fresh fruit juice, a small mango smoothie and a coffee.
Around noon, I had two delicious Hugo iceteas in “The Sauna Bistro” of the no-bathwear section and ate an exceptionally delicious vanilla ice cream topped with a honey sauce “Eisbecher Honig-Ausguss.” This was one to remember for home.
In the evening I then went back to dinner at the “Thermal Spa Restaurant” and had the “Life Balance Wok,” a soup of the day, a liver dumpling, a dessert glass of passion fruit and straciatella moesse and a plain icetea.
Nowhere was there anything to criticize and it was all very tasty and fresh.
Music 10/10
The music was adapted to each location and suited each venue. The volume was also very pleasant.
There were also plenty of places without music so there was something for everyone.
The pouring sessions were also well provided with matching music.
Price 10/10
The price is rather inexpensive as far as I’m concerned as all the options and access you have throughout the day.

General opinion
From start to finish, this is a very beautiful public spa that adds to a special experience when you are in Austria. Definitely worth visiting and experiencing.
I enjoyed the tranquility, the delicious food and the beautiful views of the mountains all around and the detailed appearance of the spa and the building itself.
